Update information outdated

Hi! I've had some issues with the update manager. It keeps telling me that the information was updated a few days ago, even after I've installed some updates. I read somewhere that this has to do with the software sources, but I'm really new to Ubuntu and Linux and I don't want to make any changes I can't undo later. I'd like some help on this, please. Thank you!

Updates.

I already did that, several times. I check everyday for updates and when it finds some I install them, but after the installation it still shows that it was updated days ago.
This is pretty much what has happened to me: http://maketecheasier.com/fix-the-package-information-was-last-updated-days-ago-error-in-ubuntu/2012/06/22

The way to fix it is there, but I just want to make sure if I should follow those steps or if there's another way to do it. Thank you.

Neat

Interesting. I've never personally run into this, but I'm glad you've found a fix.

Actually, I was checking and

Actually, I was checking and I'm getting a different error I think. I haven't tried what's on that website because what I get when I run sudo apt-get update is a different message, I get the following:

I found a fix here: http://stream-recorder.com/forum/w-gpg-error-http-ppa-launchpad-net-t6741.html?s=8c81b91f9d06a623876dce4065132411& but unfortunately, it didn't work for me.

Fix with Y PPA Manager

Ok, Luckily Dream Studio comes with Y PPA Manager, which includes a tool to fix just such errors.
Open Y PPA Manager (Dash->Y PPa Manager), double click on "Advanced", and click on "Try to fix all GPG BADSIG errors". Check for updates as usual and see if that works.

Thank you!

Thanks! That did it! That solved the problem.
